On the 17th of December 2010, I was
given the opportunity to watch the most famous and amazing band named of all
time, Bon Jovi, who toured the “2010 Circle Tour Live” in Sydney, Australia at
the Sydney Football Stadium with over 103,843 cheerful crowd. First thought
that came to mind was, “Who are they?” “What songs do they play?” Did they even
exist? … Though, I may have heard some
of their songs but could not seem to recall any of them prior to watching the
concert. In the midst of the spectacular show everyone was on their feet
enjoying themselves despite of the extreme bad weather. The ambience was
enlivening. Crowds were singing their songs. They were cheering. As a matter of
fact, it was my first to watch an international band artist and I must say, that
despite the fact of not knowing their songs in the beginning, I got extremely
obsessed and hooked with their music afterwards. It reached to the point that I
abruptly purchased their CD’s and concert DVDs and watched and listened to it
over and over again. (I know that’s how obsessive I was) I must also commend
that their music (genre) – despite of rock music being my least favourite- is O-MAZING
and I truly appreciate their music and the meaning behind it. Want to check out
some of their songs? Feel free to watch the links below :)
Park Jae-sang born December 31, 1977, better known by his stage name Psy is a South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, record producer and television personality is known as the 'King of YouTube'. Psy is known domestically for his humorous videos and stage performances, and internationally for his hit single "Gangnam Style" which has gone viral ever since 2012 to the point where the song's refrain "Oppan Gangnam Style" translated as "Big brother is Gangnam style", was entered into The Yale Book of Quotations as one of the most famous quotations of 2012.
The reason for this you might ask, well on December 21, 2012, his music video for "Gangnam Style" exceeded ONE BILLION views on YouTube, becoming the first video to do so in the website's history, thus gaining the title as the "King of YouTube". Psy's hit song has gone viral due to its catchy tune, the famous horse trot, and the hilarious music video with the concept of "Dress Classy, Dance Cheesy".
MTV noted Psy's rise from little-known outside of South Korea to "global superstar", and, for being first in the YouTube-era to secure a place in pop-culture history, hailed the singer as the "Viral Star of 2012". The singer’s been a big deal in South Korea long before teaching Britney how to horse trot on “Ellen", and now he was given the opportunity to performed in a globally televised New Year's Eve celebration with American rapper MC Hammer on-stage in front of a live audience of over a million people in Times Square, New York City.
Up until this day the music video is still ranking up the numbers with Psy's Gangnam Style hit reaching up to just over TWO BILLION views on YouTube and I must admit, I myself has viewed this video more then 20 times ever since it came out.
I found this song 'Slow Motion' by Karina Pasian few weeks ago and the lyrics expresses the girl's emotion really well. In the lyrics it says "really get to know you but rewind", I think this girl in the song wants to know the guy and the word "rewind" shows carefulness so it can be seen as careful thinking before the movement. Again in the lyrics it says "wanna love you in slow motion" clearly indicates the girl fall in love with this man. I think the experience she learnt in the past tells her that it is good to know each other slowly but she can not control it. The girl afraid of getting hurt her emotion.
Simply, her head tells not to rush as it it obvious that she will get hurt if she rushes but her mind wants to rush because she likes him. In the lyrics it says " take away the pressure on my mind". I am not quiet sure about what kind of pressure she is talking about. For me, the pressure before getting in a relationship would be something like that you want to go out with this girl before other guy takes her away.
I found male version of this song and the lyrics is bit different to the original version but I like this version more than original one as the voice sounds more soft and nice to me.
I am
sure I do not need to tell you that these lyrics belong to “Anaconda” by Nicki
Minaj. Why am I bringing this up? For centuries women have fought for
independence. The right to vote, the right to have a say. In a world where many have fought and continue to fight for respect towards women, the question that
boggles my mind is why women are so over sexualised in the music industry. Take
a look at Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” which made headlines for its
controversial lyrics and video.
What
boggles my mind MORE is that women within the music industry over sexualise
themselves. Exhibit A - Nicki Minaj. Her “Anaconda” video is nothing but her exposing
an almost bare body whilst dancing in an explicit manner. And she is not the
only one.
Music
is a pure art form which should sell itself – not one which should be sold
through sexualisation. Do you agree?
Her appeal is so strong that even the First Lady of the United States of America truly adored & admired her. She inspires many people through her songs such as Run the World, Single Ladies, Me, Myself and I, Irreplaceable, Flawless, Pretty Hurts, Stand up For Love, and the list can just go on and on. This greatly manifest and tell WOMEN to stand up on their own, be brave, be fearless, freely express themselves, and most importantly, to be proud of who they truly are. As an example, she has inspire other young artists like Rihanna.

Hey guys! It's Katt again! Hope you all been great!
Would like to update you guys on what I have been up to in relation to music! I decided to go to Macquarie University's Conception day of 2014 held at the Lakeside Lawn and can I just say it was soo much fun!
Originating in 1969, Conception Day was created by the Macquarie University Student Union with the aim of developing a sense of community among students. Conception day had it all from live performances to photobooths! It's an event where you can just have fun with your friends over drinks or go crazy while dancing to rock style band or up beat DJ performances.
One performance that clearly got the crowd going crazy was the second last act, their stage name 'Art vs Science'. What made this DJ stand out from the other performances was he mixed and mashed up popular pop cultured songs together.
The songs he used are really well know such as "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea and "Turn down for what" by DJ Snake & Lil Jon. I guess this is why the crowed loved it soo much as they were able to sing along as well as dance at the same time!
I defiantly would go again next year, it's an event where you can let yourself go without a care or just sit back and relax watching live performances. Although entry can be a bit pricy it is defiantly worth it if you love live performances from bands to DJs which goes on non stop from 12pm-7pm. Conception day is an event where music lovers must attend. I’ve provided a snippet of Friday nights performance below, check it out if you have the time!
One of my hobbies is to listen to the same song over and over again. I think it was last year, I hooked up to other song. Seriously I kept listening to the same song and couldn't stop so I listened to it like at least 10 times a day for almost 3months. Funny thing was I normally find 1or2 good songs from one singer but other songs in a different album were really good too and listened to it over and over again.
I will try other songs by Bumkey in different a album during the holidays so I have more songs to listen. Listening to your favourite songs make you feel comfortable. I often use perfumes at home especially during exam period to refresh and same goes to listening to your favorite songs. For me, the problem is once you listen to the song, it might take an hour to stop.
Also, I would love to try other songs that you guys love during holiday :) It would be good if you guys make a list of your favorite songs in next post.
So I
sat on the bus today for my regular commute to university, surrounded by many -
some old, some young. One commonality between this group was what was plugged
in them – earphones. A powerful device connected to mobile phones, MP3 players
and other devices. The ability of this device to block the external world out
from the mind of the listener is a powerful attribute of this creation.
One
particular person caught my eye – ears plugged in, bobbing his head up and down,
completely engrossed in the tune, the beat, the lyrics…who knows. All I could
deduce was that music is a powerful source of detachment of the current
physical and mental states and carries us to another world.
Next
time you are on public transport – or at home - listen to this and I can assure
you, you will be transported to a tropical island (well, your mind anyway).
Hello guys!
It’s Trixie Here J Hope you’re all doing great!
Guy
Sebastian has just released his new single called Come Home with Me and as
ever, he has done it again and again and again…. After watching him perform
this song live on the X-Factor Australia- just a few weeks ago- I thought “Hmm…
yeah that sounds alright” but when it was repetitively played on the radio, all
of a sudden I GOT HOOKED! The lyrics, its buoyant beat that would seriously
catch YOUR attention and basically just everything about this song are just
SPLENDID…
Also, just
to update you guys on how Guy Sebastian came up with this AWESOME song; He
wrote it with Mario Marchetti (Demi Lovato, Black Eyed Peas) and Britt Burton
(Alexandra Burke, The Wanted and was recorded in both Sydney and Los Angeles.
Here’s what Guy had to say;
"The band and I have captured some magic moments in the studio over the last few months, and I hope my fans will love this single as much as I do", says Guy.
So if you haven't heard of Guy's top hit, I suggest you do so or just watch the below. Have fun. :)
Welcome to the Consequence Of Music were myself along with other awesome music bloggers will happily update you on what is fresh and new in the world of music. Luckily I was given the opportunity to start off this blog of music, and what better way to start it is by kicking off with Australia's top 3 ARIA single charts. It is my pleasure to announce the top 3 songs currently in Australia in accordance to ARIA. Coming in third place Redfoo with ‘New Thang’, just ahead coming in second Meghan Trainor with ‘All About That Bass’, and holding onto first place for quite a while now is none other than Taylor Swift with ‘Shake it off’. If you haven’t heard of Taylor’s new hit, I suggest you do so. This song gives off a high and uplifting beat if you want to forget about all about your troubles and “Shake it off, shake it off!” Enjoy guys!
